Aims and Scope

The journal encourages original research, expert review of Obesity Medicine at the lead of epidemiological, translational studies and practice at the clinic. OOA commits to publishing the result of research and clinical practice; case reports interesting to an international audience of dietitians, healthcare practitioners, Family Physicians, public health officials, therapists engaged with obesity, diabetes and related disorders. Also, may be of interests to scientist dedicated to the most updated and substantial medical developments across Human Physiology, Psychology, and Epidemiology.

The core area of interest of OOA includes current epidemiological aspects of obesity, health risks associated with obesity, psychological aspects of obesity and translational studies. The reports cover research subjects pertinent to basic, clinical, and translational studies in the areas of lipid metabolism, Paediatric Obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. The journal focuses on the progress in studies of clinical significance and treatment of patients with nutrition and eating disorders, exercise and human Physiology, weight control and health risks associated with obesity, and the outcome of the interventions proposed.

The journal pursues well-defined papers which prioritise distinction, originality, applicability, accuracy, focus and appeal to the audience. Scientists engaged in research on obesity, Nutrition, diabetes and related disorders, bariatric surgeons, basic scientists working on metabolic function, genetics and molecular biology contribute articles to OOA. OOA is peer-reviewed to assure the scientific value and clinical significance of its diverse content.

Call for submissions

The Obesity: Open Access Journal publishes articles of original, multidisciplinary, translational research and clinical practice. Topics included but not exclusively are Nutrition, adipocyte Biology and Physiology, Epidemiology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Physiology, and obesity prevention and therapy practice management.

The Editor keenly encourages the most diverse contributions and knowledge that nurture the disciplines that meet in obesity management and therapy and insights into obesity associated syndromes. Similarly, OOA is interested in clinical trials or methods of obesity care and its complications, Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses in Obesity Medicine from clinical published progress and data.

Focused research on a broad spectrum of disciplines as well as preliminary reports that provoke a dialogue between obesity research and other disciplines may be submitted. Moreover, authors may submit case reports and letters to the editor.
