Dr. Katherine (Kate) Klein, is a Clinical Associate Professor of Radiology and the Associate Director of Radiology Medical Student Education in the Department of Radiology at Michigan Medicine – The University of Michigan and a Core Member of the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center. A graduate of the University of Windsor and Schulich School of Medicine, in London, Ontario. She completed her residency training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, becoming board certified in Diagnostic Radiology in 1998. She completed her Body Imaging (Cross-Sectional, MRI, Ultrasound) Fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI and her Breast Imaging Fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She is a Fellow in the American College of Radiology.
Dr. Klein has a broad background in medical education in the field of Radiology, with specific training and expertise in breast imaging, interventional radiology, and tomosynethsis. Her expertise in medical student education is recognized at an institutional level as Lead Faculty for the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Branches Element and Doctoring Curriculum Development, at the University of Michigan Medical School Education Office. At a national level, she is Chair of the AUR (Association of University Radiologists) ACER (Alliance of Clinician-Educators in Radiology) Education Committee and the AUR AMSER (Alliance of Medical Student Educators in Radiology) Electronic Committee.
Dr. Katherine (Kate) Klein, research is in the areas of resident and medical student teaching, simulation in radiology, tomosythesis, and many other areas of breast imaging.
