Biography

Bijoyaa Mohapatra, PhD.  is an Assistant Professor in Communication Disorders at the New Mexico State University. Earlier she received her Ph.D. degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Georgia. Currently her research interest includes psychophysiological measurement of cognitive behavior, biofeedback training, and complementary-alternative practices in aphasia rehabilitation. She has disseminated research findings via journal publications and conference presentations. Dr. Mohapatra also holds the Interdisciplinary Graduate Certificate in University Teaching.

Research Interest

  • Exploring cognitive, communicative, and affective processes in aphasia and healthy aging
  • Investigating psychophysiological concomitants of cognitive functioning in healthy and adult neurogenic communication disorders, and the efficacy of biofeedback training
  • Exploring complementary and alternative treatment practices for adults with communication disorders following acquired brain injury
