Biography

Dr. Ricardo Barros Sampaio has done his PhD in Information Science at the University of Brasilia-UnB (2011-2015), with research internship (Sandu doctorate) at the Toulouse Business School and the Institut de Recherche en Informatique de Toulouse (IRIT), Université Paul Sabatier - France (2013-2014) with a research grant by CAPES. His focus of the Research is in Complex Networks Analysis as an instrument to support decision making; Master of Business Administration from Bond University-Australia (2003); He has done his specialization in Software Development Process Improvement, University of Lavras-UFLA (2006); and has graduated in Electrical Engineering from the City College of New York, USA (1999). Dr. Ricardo Barros Sampaio’s research projects focus on the application of Complex Network Analysis methods and validation of methodology for obtaining and processing strategic information in the area of Science, Technology, and Society. Data recovery and treatment with application of statistical analysis, network analysis, and semantic analysis. Treatment of large databases and use of statistical descriptive programming language tool R. Analysis of scientific publication data and patents with a use of programs to learn from machines. He is a researcher at the Nucleus of Networks and Collaborator of Science and Technology of the Fiocruz Society Brasília. He is a Professor and Researcher of the Graduate Program in Information Science of the University of Brasília and also a Professional Master of Public Policies in Health and Specialization in Public Health by the Fiocruz School of Government Consultant with focus on Big Data, Analysis of Social Networks Information Security, IT Governance, Process Improvement, IT Services (ITIL), Strategic Planning and Project Management.
