Biography

Prof Dr. Adlina, is a Public Health Physician and Deputy Dean of Student Affairs and Development at the National Defence University of Malaysia. She was a pioneer staff in the setting up of three Faculties of Medicine (UiTM, MAHSA University College and NDUM) and has been invited by Malaysian Medical Council/Malaysian Quality Assurance for accreditation visits to medical schools in Malaysia. She has 20 years experience as a lecturer in community medicine, epidemiology, biostatistics, health management, ethics, adolescent health and professional/personal development. She has published articles in local/international journals on breastfeeding, depression among school children, stress among a diversified group of people, obesity among students and electromagnetic field radiation effect on health.
She has been a breastfeeding advocate since 1991 and holds the post of Deputy President of the Malaysian Breastfeeding Mothers Support Association. She is a certified trainer of the WHO/UNICEF 40hrs Breastfeeding Counselling Course and an assessor of hospitals that request for the BFHI certification. In 2016 she helped IBFAN Asia publish a carbon footprint due to milk formula report. She is an active volunteer in the disaster preparedness non-governmental organization (BBNGO) and has experience in medical relief post-tsunami in Acheh and post-earthquake in Balakot.
