Biography

Dr. H. Virginia McCoy has been a faculty member at Florida International University for 27 years. She is the doctoral program coordinator for the Department of Health Promotion & Disease Prevention and teaches primarily doctoral courses on grant writing, theory development, and policy/practice in health promotion. She is director of the South Florida Public Health Training Center and collaborates with the Florida Department of Health and local health departments. She is a founding member of the Florida Institute of Health Innovation and is a member of the Board of Directors. She has maintained a research program in disparities in HIV/AIDS and drug and alcohol abuse among minority and migrant populations.
