Biography

Dr. Khier is currently Professor and Head of Dental Biomaterials Division, and Senior Clinical Consultant of Removable Prosthodontics, in the Clinical Dental Sciences Department, College of Dentistry, Princess Nourah University, Riyadh; Saudi Arabia. She has held a position of Professor at King Saud University in Saudi Arabia, and also Professor and Department Chairman at Mansoura University in Egypt. As a Visiting Professor, Dr. Khier has joined University of Adelaide Dental School in Australia, and University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry in Canada. She serves as an Editorial Board member for several national and international Journals including the Journal of Contemporary Dental Practice, Journal of Dentistry and Dental Medicine, and Journal of Clinical Research in Dentistry. She received a BDS, and MSD from University of Alexandria Faculty of Dentistry, in Egypt. Dr. Khier also received an MSc, and PhD in Dental Materials from Marquette University Graduate School in USA. She is a Fellow of the Academy of Dental Materials in USA.

Dr. Khier has several publications in national and international Journals, and has made several presentations before major dental groups nationally and abroad.

  • Co-recipient of the Third Place Research Award granted by the Committee of Poster Presentations. The 14th Saudi International Dental meeting and the 23rd Saudi Dental Society, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Feb. 6-8, 2012. This award was offered on a competition basis. The value of this award was approximately US $375.00.
  • Recipient of a 6-year Scholarship granted by Ministry of Higher Education, the Egyptian Government, Egypt, May, 1982. This Scholarship was offered annually to junior university instructors on a National competition basis to pursue postgraduate studies abroad. The total value of this Scholarship was US $200,000.00.
  • Co-recipient of the First Place Research Award granted by the Committee of Spring Table Clinics and Poster Presentations, School of Dentistry, Marquette University, USA - July, 1983. This award was offered annually on a competition basis. The value of this award was approximately US $500.00.
