Biography
Dr. Azimi is a well respected interventional cardiologist with expertise in angioplasty, stents, peripheral angiograms and stenting, as well as structural heart interventions. He is involved in Transcatheter Aortic Valve replacements. He is awarded national STEMI champion award by Sharp Healthcare for his outcomes involving heart attacks to be the best in the country. He has been recognized as San Diego's Top Interventional Cardiologists by San Diego Magazine 2013, 2014, 2016 and also by Castle Connoly for 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. He is a former chief of biomedical ethics (6 years), former chief of Medicine and current chief of Endovascular Medicine as well as Vice Chief of Cardiology at SGH. He is on the board of directors of the California ACC where he serves as chair of the public relations committee.
