Biography

Dr. Vickie Shannon is a board certified Pulmonary and Critical Care Specialist. She is a full Professor in the Department of Pulmonary Medicine and Director of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at MD Anderson Cancer Center.  Dr. Shannon received her medical degree and completed her fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Board certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care, and Pulmonary Medicine, she is also a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, American Lung Association, and American College of Physicians, to name a few. Dr. Shannon is widely sought nationally and internationally as a guest lecturer.  Her research interests focus on pulmonary rehabilitation in the cancer setting, lung injury due to drug toxicity, lung infectionsin the immunocompromised host,muscle physiology, respiratory physiology, and exercise physiology.
