Biography

Dr. Nomelíp Nuñez has completed his PhD in Pharmacology/Toxicology from Washington State University, Pullman, Washington, USA and has done his Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Dr. Nomelíp Nuñez is currently working as Associate Professor of Nutrition in Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He is a clinical expert in Breast cancer, Obesity, Diabetes, Alcohol consumption. His research interests include Breast cancer. It is the second leading cause of cancer death among American women.  Breast cancer risk is increased by both obesity and alcohol consumption. However, the mechanism of how these factors affect breast cancer development is not fully known.  Dr. Nomelíp Nuñez ‘s laboratory at Georgia State University focuses on investigating how these risk factors influence breast cancer development with the ultimate goal of finding targets to prevent the effects of alcohol and obesity on breast cancer.

Research Interests

  • Breast Cancer, The risk factors influencing breast cancer development (Obesity, Diabetes, Alcohol consumption)
