Biography

Susan Apold, PhD, ANP-BC, FAAN, FAANP is a Clinical Professor of Nursing at the Rory Meyers School of Nursing at New York University College of Nursing where she teaches Master’s and Doctoral students health policy and policy engagement. She has served as Dean of Nursing at the College of Mount Saint Vincent and Founding Dean of Nursing at Concordia College New York. Dr. Apold served twice as President of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York. She has published in the area of nursing advocacy and nurse practitioner scope of practice and is a staunch supporter of the nurses’ role as leaders at the bedside and in the boardrooms across the nation. Dr. Apold maintains a private practice in Adult Health in New Rochelle, NY. Dr. Apold is a Fellow of the both American Academy of Nursing and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is an alumna of the Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellows program.
