Clinical experience outside USA

I did 5years surgical resident training in China. The training provided me with broad based clinical experience in an atmosphere of high academic standards and personalized training surgery. I am good at diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with urological disorders and kidney transplantation. I have also been trained to performing the following surgical procedures: cadaver kidney transplantation, living donor kidney transplantation, including
organ procedure and implantation and perioperative management of kidney transplantation including ICU training. I am also good at urethral catheterization, placement of a suprapubic tube, cystoscopy, circumcision, hydrocelectomy, transurethral resection of simple bladder tumor, ureteral endoscopy and lithotripsy, flank procedures include  nephrectomy and retroperitoneal dissection, pelvic procedures including cystectomy and simple and radical prostatectomy, transurethral procedures, urethral stricture repairs, and radical orchiectomy.

US Clinical experience

1. Surgical Clerkship and Observation experience I did one month Surgical Clerkship at Transplant center and Acute care Surgery of Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. I was involved in operations including piggyback Liver transplantation, combined kidney liver transplantation, cadaveric kidney transplantation, living donor kidney transplantation, hand assistant laparoscopy nephrectomy, robot laparoscopy nephrectomy. I also rotated at Acute Care Surgery of Piedmont hospital. I was involved in diagnosis and management of general surgery disease. I was involved in operations including laparoscopy cholecystectomy, Laparoscopy appendectomy, small bowel resection, hernia repair, colon tumor resection and colostomy and EEA colorectal anastomosis. After that, I did one year observation at MUSC Transplant center. I followed up liver and kidney transplant clinic, Morning Round, Morning report, Attending Round, liver selection meeting, kidney selection meeting, grand Round and M& M conference.
2. Hand on and Working Clinical Experience:
I officially joined the Transplant division of MUSC in 2013. I worked as a Donor surgeon. I obtained South Carolina Academic Medical License. My job responsibility was mainly focus on donor procurement and vascular access surgery. I have done 3 months rotation at STICU service of MUSC. Iam familiar with ICU management for critical care patients. I have done 40 donor recovery surgery (Livers, kidneys) as first assistant (including 7 cases of pancreas procurement). I have helped Liver Transplant backbench surgery about 40 cases as first assistant. I also have assisted liver transplant operation about 40 cases as second assistant. I have done about 150 cases of vascular access surgery as first assistant (including creation of new AV fistula, AV fistula revision, laparoscopic PD catheter placement and removal, perm Catheter placement and Temp Catheter Placement). I have also involved in kidney transplantation about 25 cases (including 2 cases of enblock pediatric kidney transplant), transplant nephrectomy(3 cases), combined kidney and pancreas transplant about 5 cases and other general surgery cases like Lap Cholecystectomy ,liver resection and incision hernia etc. I am currently working at HumeLee Transplant center at MCV. My Clinical interest is Liver and kidney transplant, vascular Access Surgery, Lap or open Nephrectomy and Hepatobiliary Surgery.

  Resear ch Experience

I worked on molecular and biochemical mechanism of mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stree involed in liver ischemia and liver transplantation. I have a huge amount of microsurgery experience. I can establish the liver transplantation (over 1000 cases), renal transplantation (over 200 cases) and heart transplantation (over 600 cases) in rat and mouse. I am currently working at HumeLee Transplant Center at MCV. My research interest is DCD liver transplant, ischemia reperfusion injury and transplant immunology.
