Dr. David Chhieng is the Director of Anatomic Pathology and Pathology Informatics at the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle WA. Before his move to UW, Dr. David Chhieng was the Director of Cytology and a professor of pathology at a professor of pathology at Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) for 2 years and at Yale University for 7 years. In addition to his Medical Degree from the University of Hong Kong, he also obtained his master degree in business management and health informatics management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and his master degree in engineering management from the University of New Haven. He completed his pathology residency training at the Albany Medical Center and his fellowship training in Oncologic Pathology and Cytopathology at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and New York University, respectively. He is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, Cytopathology, and Clinical Informatics.
Dr. Chhieng has published over 160 peer-reviewed articles on the topics of cytopathology and oncology. He also co-authored several books and book chapters. In addition to serving on the executive board of ASCT service Inc., Dr Chhieng is also serving in other national professional societies, including the American Board of Pathology, College of American Pathologists, American Society of Clinical Pathology, American Society of Cytopathology, and Papanicolaou Society of Cytology.
