1991 – 1996 research scientist, Institute of Physiology, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prague

Biography

Dr. Miksik in practice he uses coupling of capillary electrophoresis and chromatography to mass spectrometry and their application to study of proteins, peptides and other physiological important compounds; analysis of steroids and their metabolites in organisms, native and modified proteins; physiology and chemistry of connective tissue and their cross-links; study of nonenzymatic posttranslational modification of proteins. In the recent last years he participates at the research of various medicine relevant researches as dentistry as well as forensic medicine.

Research Interest

His research interests include developing of analytical methods for analysis of a broad spectrum of compounds by capillary electrophoresis and liquid chromatography (including coupling to mass spectrometry)
applications of analytical methods for the analysis of biological (physiological) functions of the organism
analysis of proteins, their posttranslational modifications (mainly proteins of connective tissue)
analysis of various tissues (animals as well as human)

Professional Activities:

Memberships in Professional Societies and Committees
He is member of the Czech Chemical Society (member of board of the Section for Chromatography and Electrophoresis). He was a member of the Organizing Committees of the international symposia: Applications of HPLC and HPCE in the BioSciences (Prague 1995), 2nd International Symposium Separations in the BioSciences SBS 2001 (Prague),  MSB2010 (MicroscaleBioseparations) (Prague 2010), 20th International Symposium on Separation Sciences (Prague 2014) and upcoming HPLC 2017 (International Symposium on High Performance Liquid Phase Separations) (Prague 2017).
