Biography

After eight years of teaching and research in Biochemical Engineering at the Zhejiang University of Technology, I went to the University of Leeds as a Ph.D. student to study in Microbiology. I joined the Linhardt Group at University of Iowa in 1999, after I worked in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) for one year as a research associate. I moved to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) with the Linhardt Group in 2003.  I have published more than 140 research papers, several patents. I received a few scientific achievement awards (such as Research Excellent Award, RPI, 2012; the Zhejiang Provincial Government Scientific Achievement Awards, 1993).

Research Interest

His research areas are molecular interactions using surface plasmon resonance (SPR) spectroscopy and glycan analysis using NMR and LCMS in glycomics and glycobiology.
