Research Activities:

  • Served as Co-Principal Investigator with Steven Barlow, PhD from University of Kansas for an NIH Grant “Randomized Trial Evaluating the Effect of Patterned Oral Somatosensory Entrainment Stimulation Program (NTrainer) on Suck Development, Oral Feed Performance, Length of Hospital Stay, and Growth Among 6 Groups of Newborn Infants Born Between 26 and 40 Weeks Gestational Age.” (2007-2013)  
  • Also served as Co-Investigator with Dr. Barlow for a related project:  “Vestibular stimulation rate and acceleration alters sensorimotor integration of the respiratory central pattern generator for chest wall kinematics in preterm infants.” (2010)
  • Supervised several research projects for Pediatrix Medical Group including Sound Gene study, Amino Acid study, and Causes of Mortality study.

Member of:  Perinatal Critical Care Committee, Maternal-Child Health Operational Committee, Pediatric Committee, hospital-wide Quality Improvement Committee.

Awards:

11-1999 Productivity and Quality Award presented by the Los Angeles County
Quality and Productivity Commission for creation of the Respiratory Syncytial Virus Prevention Program at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center.
4-2011 Quality Improvement Award from Mednax Company.
9-2011 Marjorie S. Sirridge Outstanding Women in Medicine Award, UMKC School of Medicine, Kansas City, MO
10-2011 Received the “Saving Babies Together” award from the Topeka March of Dimes.
4-2012 Neonatal Research Award, awarded by Mednax Company, for outstanding contributions to company-wide research projects.
4-2014 Recognized at Topeka YWCA’s 26th Annual Leadership Luncheon, “Breaking Barriers”

  • Member of Alpha Omega Alpha, National Medical Honor Society
  • Member of Physician Advisory Panel to Government Relationship Committee of Pediatrix Medical Group (2010-present)
  • Member Board of Directors of National Perinatal Association (2012-present).  As Board member, Dr. Hall led a multidisciplinary group with the task of developing recommendations for Psychosocial Support of NICU Parents, and moderated an all-day Summit on this topic in St. Louis, October 15, 2014.  The group is in the process of writing journal articles on their recommendations.
