Biography

Adel M. Zauk, MD, FAAP
Dr. Zauk received his Doctor of Medicine from the Catholic University of Louvain in Brussels.  Post doctorate, he received both a Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Diploma of Medical Mycology, from the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp.  He moved to the United States in 1983 and completed his residency in Pediatrics at the Washington University Medical Center’s Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, and his fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York.

Since 1989, Dr. Zauk has been an active member of the St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson, NJ.  He started as an Attending Neonatologist and became Chief of Neonatology and Director of Nurseries in 2000. Over the years, Dr. Zauk has been an invited lecturer and has published numerous articles on his vast experience in the field of neonatology.

He currently serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Pediatrics at New York Medical College and is a Clinical Associate Professor at St. George’s University School of Medicine.

Dr. Zauk received a leadership award from the Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition in 2004 and that same year received a Citation from the New Jersey State Senate 35th Legislative District.  He is the 2013 Recipient of the Kendrick P. Lance, MD Distinguished Physician Award for Outstanding Service as a St. Joseph’s Physician.
