Teaching Experience

I was teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in the Molecular Genetics and Epidemiology:

  • Anven Zhang is an undergraduate student in the University Of Michigan College Of Engineering. I mentored him on the molecular genetics of FOXP3 mutation using a mouse model of lung cancer. He was studied with me at the laboratory between 9/2011 and 5/2012.
  • Grant Backer is an undergraduate student in the University Of Michigan College Of Literature, Science, and the Arts.  I mentored him on the molecular genetics of FOXP3 mutation in prostate cancer. He was studied with me at the laboratory between 9/2010 and 5/2011.
  • Chun-Shu Wong is a graduate student in the Program of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Michigan.  I mentored him on the molecular genetics and epidemiology of CD24 polymorphisms in prostate cancer family between 1/2010 and 6/2010. He is currently studying at the Department of Surgery as a Ph.D. student, University of Michigan.
  • Dr. Dongling Li was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the University of Michigan.  I directed her on the identification of disease candidate genes and functional genetic variants in human disease between 6/2008 and 6/2009. She is currently an associate professor at the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Science, Beijing, China.
  • Dr. Xianfeng Fan was a visiting graduate student in the University of Michigan. I mentored him on the molecular genetics and epidemiology of CD24 polymorphisms in multiple autoimmune diseases between 6/2008 and 6/2009. He is a postdoctoral fellow working at the City of Hope, NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, Duarte, California.
  • Dr. Tony Wang was an undergraduate student at the Ohio State University. I mentored him on the molecular genetics and epidemiology in autoimmune diseases between 6/2004 and 6/2006. He is currently a medical student at the Ohio State University.
