Biography

Ms. Amy Nguyen Stewart is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Dental Ecology at the University of North Carolina, School of Dentistry. She is known for her excellent and well-rounded skills in the dental profession, having over 20 years experience in administration, clinical, and academics. She is a graduate of Cal State University in San Bernardino with a Bachelors degree in healthcare administration. She also received a B.S and M.S degrees both in dental hygiene sciences education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Ms. Stewart is currently a certified CPR instructor.  She has presented and consulted numerous continuing education seminars for dental teams on local, state and national levels in fields such as ergonomics, spa dentistry, soft tissue management, antimicrobials, local delivery therapies, radiation and safety, HIPAA and OSHA compliances, and cultural diversity. Ms. Stewart is an active member of ADEA, ADHA, AADR, IADR, the North Carolina Dental Hygiene Academy of Advanced Studies, and lifetime member of UNC GAA. Also, she has published related articles and abstracts in professional journals. Besides her professional expertise, Ms. Stewart's most priceless attribute is something all too rare in today's rushed world: She cares and shares, striving to prepare her students not only for the test, but more importantly for their patients.
