Biography

Mohamed I. Kamel, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Urology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He is board certified in Urology by the European, British and Canadian Boards. As a specialist in kidney transplantation and genito-urinary cancer, Dr. Kamel received his formal residency training in urology in Ireland, where he also graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons. He completed fellowship training in Kidney transplantation in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, Ireland which hosts the national Irish kidney transplantation program. He also completed a fellowship in urogenital cancer management at the University of Miami in the United States. He received his medical degree from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt.

His clinical interests and research focus on kidney transplantation and management of urogenital cancer. He has three times received the Irish Journal of Medical Science Research Award for best published research from Ireland in international journal, as well as the Irish Society of Urology Clinical Research Award and the Young Investigator Award from the Egyptian Society of Urology in conjunction with the European Association of Urology.
