Research Interest

Dr. Dash’s research is focused in the areas of solid-state characterization of drug molecules, development of novel polymeric drug delivery systems, nanodelivery, and pharmaceutical analysis. His publications in this field deal with the identification and solution of challenging industrial problems in the area of solid- state properties of drug and drug delivery systems. His primary research interest involves the evaluation of these important parameters by using powder X-ray, microscopic, FTIR, solid-state and 2D NMR, thermoanalytical and HPLC techniques. His second area of interest involves the use of different biodegradable and nondegradable polymers in the development of drug delivery systems design and targeting. This could include implantable, nano and microparticulate systems, bioadhesive and site specific targeted drug delivery systems containing drugs and/or biotechnologically derived pharmaceuticals. His third area of research interest is the analysis of drugs in various dosage forms and drug delivery systems. This includes use of FTIR, HPLC, GC, LC-MS, X-ray diffractometry, thermoanalytical methods and scanning electron microscopy.
