Biography

Dr. Xinhong Dong receivedhis B.S. from the Wuhan University (China)in 1992 and his Ph.D. from Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1997.After postdoctoral training at the Max Planck Institute for Biologyin Tübingen(Germany) and the Vanderbilt University, he joined the faculty of the Meharry Medical College in 2006. He is currently an Associate Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at the Meharry Medical College, and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at the Vanderbilt University. He has an extensive research background in virology, with a special interest in HIV biology and HIV drug development. His research is supported by grants from the NIH.  He serves on the editorial boards of several academics journals. He is also a member of the American Society for Virology, the American Society for Microbiology, and the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
