Biography

Dr. Marchand obtained his PhD in Molecular Pharmacology in 1997 from the University of Paris, Pierre & Marie Curie, France in the area of gene therapy via DNA triple helix formation. In 1998, he joined the Laboratory of Molecular Pharmacology, CCR, NCI as a Visiting Fellow where he was appointed Staff Scientist in 2006. In 2014, Dr. Marchand was promoted to Senior Staff Scientist (NCI Associate Scientist) in the Developmental Therapeutics Branch, CCR, NCI. Dr. Marchand serves as a steering committee member for the Center of Excellence in HIV and Cancer Virology at NCI.Dr. Marchand received two NCI Director’s Intramural Innovation Awards(2007 & 2011) for the development of novel high-throughput screening assays. He is alsothe recipient of 12 Federal Technology Transfer Awards for his work on HIV-1 integrase and TDP1 inhibitors.
