Biography

Dr. Kauffman specializes in the clinical and surgical care of genitourinary (GU) cancer patients. His general research interests include the molecular mechanisms underlying GU cancer metastasis and biomarker development.  Dr. Kauffman earned his medical degree at the University of Chicago, IL (2004), including a one-year Howard Hughes Medical Institute research fellowship (2001-2002). Dr. Kauffman subsequently completed his General Surgery internship (2006) and Urology residency training (2010) at New York Presbyterian Hospital of Weill-Cornell Medical Center in New York, NY, and has more recently finished a clinical and research fellowship in Urologic Oncology at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, MD (2012). He most recently joined Roswell Park Cancer Institute as a new faculty member and is now running a small laboratory as a principal investigator.
