Biography

Prof. Mookesh Patel received his MFA in graphic design from Rhode Island School of Design. He holds a diploma in Visual Communication from the National Institute of Design, and a BS from Ahmedabad Science College, Gujarat University, India. He is a practicing information/experience designer (principal partner at InfoDesign Management Inc., Scottsdale). He is a member of ICOGRADA, and IIID. He chaired the Department of Visual Communication Design at former College of Design at ASU. His clients include Phoenix Art Museum, Metropolitan Boston Transit Authority through Malcolm Grear Designers, and Government of India for a major traveling exhibition: My Land, My People. He is the recipient of a Fulbright Research Scholar Grant, United Nations Development Program Grant, AIGA, and other awards. Professor Patel's research focuses on the visual communication and information design issues, semiotics, visual interpretation, visualization, film and animation design, exhibition / experience design, and typography. His widely published works includes ASU from the Air (2000) coauthored with David Scheatzle and Emily Kimling.
